The Maker Behind Solar Crone
My name is Penelope, and I have been creating handcrafted ritual objects for more than twenty years.
My work has always been rooted in the quiet rhythm of making, taking simple materials and transforming them through traditional craft, symbolism and careful attention into objects that can become part of meaningful moments and personal stories.
The name Penelope comes from Greek tradition and means “the weaver”, a connection that has always felt deeply woven into my own creative journey. Much of what I create begins with weaving and binding, not only fibres together, but ideas, symbolism and craftsmanship into objects that carry meaning.
Solar Crone Creations grew from a personal craft practice into a dedicated artisan studio creating handmade ritual objects inspired by tradition, intention and the belief that meaningful things are made slowly and thoughtfully.
The Story Behind Solar Crone
The name Solar Crone reflects the journey behind my work.
The Sun represents creativity, warmth and the energy that brings ideas into being. The Crone represents the knowledge gained through years of learning, making and experience.
Together, they represent the values at the heart of Solar Crone Creations:
Patience.
Authenticity.
Craftsmanship.
Intention.
Every piece created in my studio carries a part of this journey.
My Craft
Every ritual object is made by hand in my studio, using carefully chosen materials and traditional techniques.
I create:
✧ The Binding Line
Handfasting cords created for commitment, devotion and meaningful union.
✧ The Threshold Line
Witch bells and ritual objects inspired by protection, transition and boundary work.
✧ The Soulmark Line
Symbolic jewellery and amulets created to express identity, connection and personal meaning.
✧ The Sacred Space Line
Handcrafted objects created to support ritual practice and intentional spaces.
Although each collection has its own purpose, they share the same foundation: objects should be meaningful, thoughtfully made and created to be part of someone's life.
Materials, Process & Values
I believe the materials used to create a ritual object matter just as much as the finished piece.
Where possible, I work with reclaimed materials, sustainably sourced fibres, ethically gathered natural elements and carefully selected components chosen not only for their beauty, but for their symbolism and suitability.
Each knot, braid, weave and finishing detail is completed by hand.
Nothing is mass produced, and no two pieces are ever exactly alike.
The making process itself is part of the story.
Why I Create
I do not create ritual objects simply to be displayed.
I create them to be held, used and woven into people's lives.
Over the years, one comment from customers has stayed with me: that they feel they did not simply choose a piece, but that they found the one that was waiting for them.
To me, that is the heart of ritual craft.
A meaningful object does not become valuable because it is elaborate or rare. Its meaning grows through the connection it forms with the person who wears it, uses it or welcomes it into their space.
My hope is that every piece leaving my studio becomes part of someone's story — marking a commitment, honouring a transition, expressing identity, creating sacred space or simply serving as a reminder of something that matters.
